Today we had a womens soccer intrasquad scrimmage. Once again a new event site that I would be working with students on training and preparation. The main jobs for our soccer games include PA, scoreboard operator and ball rollers on all four corners to help speed up the game when balls go out of bounds.

The biggest roles of those are training the PA announcer on the setup of the mixer and how to regulate volume for music and the mic. Attached below is our mixer setup which plugs into our outside speakers on the press box. Finding a PA is always challenging with young students who do not want to be heard by friends and classmates, however this years group of work studies has a number of willing candidates which is very exciting to see. Tonight we had a young lady on the mic who did an excellent job learning the setup, transitioning from music to mic, and announcing the game. It is very refreshing to see the staff members picking up on the training and seeing it all click after a few attempts.

My goal as the supervisor of all the work studies is to help them obtain valuable experience so that one day they are successful in their careers elsewhere (especially for my sports management students). Overall another success thanks to my preplanning and having all the staffing positions lined up in advance, which I worked on once again today to have for the next two weeks.
