As Belmont Abbey Colleges, Covid-19 protocols begin to take effect and decisions have start to come down, it has been determined that the athletics department would be hosting games for broadcast. The goal is to showcase the sports, give them competitions to look forward to, and have a way for family and friends to watch (online) since current policy prevents spectators. As a result of the decision, and a fall broadcast schedule being created, my student workers who applied for helping with game day staffing officially have events to work and thus I have begun the scheduling process for them.

In the past years, the old work study manager would send out an email and have the first to reply for each game work. Due to my luck with signup genius thus far, I have opted to continue utilizing it for staffing of game days as well allowing me to see a running list of games, and workers who have signed up all in one place. After determining my method of scheduling, I had to figure out how many workers would be required for each event which ranged from soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, field hockey and every other sport on the list. Being relatively new to the department, it took me a great amount of time collecting the information from last years supervisor along with Paul Lyon to ensure any new protocol could be enforced with the staffs help. Below is the staffing information that was acquired:

Softball=2 (scoreboard, PA)

Soccer=5 (scoreboard, ball rollers on each corner)

Lacrosse=3 (scoreboard, penalty box, PA)

Baseball=2 (scoreboard, PA)

Basketball=8 (3 front entrance screeners, scoreboard, PA, score book, spotter, shot clock

Volleyball=7 (2 screener, scoreboard, libero tracking, stat sheet, 2 ball rollers

I plan to send out the signup genius with games for two week increments. This allows students to sign up in advance, yet not to far as school assignments, games and other things pop up on their schedules which would lead to lots of staffing changes that are unseen to far out. Below is the upcoming signup which shows me who will be working in the coming weeks.
