As Belmont Abbey approaches the two week mark of the return to campus for faculty and students, Covid case numbers seem to be holding steady at a low mark. Running data bases have been created by campus health officials that include positives and those in quarentine not able to move about campus. What it all means is that we are one step closer to normality back on campus. With the school closing in on a more normal setting, Paul Lyon has indicated that the weight room would be opening up in a week or so and that I should have hours for both staff and students laid out, and that they would be done only through appointments, and not walk ins like previous years. Having each patron schedule a time to work out allows us to screen the users and ensure they are healthy and not on the Covid lists.

Thus, I had to brainstorm a way to create a sign up for students, staff and faculty to all have access to reserve spots without having to answer emails and calls all day. The result was a sign up genius form that allows me to create a shareable link that patrons can fill out and reserve specific workout windows. The link gives me access to see who, when and a way to contact them if they are not approved for use. Additionally it serves as a method for contact tracing if needed following a user in the weight room testing positive.

Today's goal was creating the weight room hours, specific weight room slots that would be available, and figuring out who of my students could work those times. All hours are designed around open windows the strengths and conditioning staff has provided me in which teams would not be using the space (very challenging with 21 teams)! Attached is the link of a sign up genius that has been modified to hide names to ensure no FERPA laws are broken.
